Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? You’re not alone.
Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions about consultations, services, and how everything works. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out directly.
Are the consultations covered by insurance?
Many extended health insurance plans in Canada cover services from a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist.
Coverage can vary, some plans use the term nutritionist, others dietitian.
We recommend checking directly with your provider to confirm.
What should I prepare before my first session?
If available, bring a list of your current medications or supplements, and any recent lab results.
This helps ensure your assessment is as complete and personalized as possible.
Can I do the consultation online?
Yes! All consultations are offered exclusively online, via a secure platform.
This format is convenient, accessible, and just as effective as in-person sessions, whether you’re local or across the province.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends entirely on you.
Some clients benefit from one or two focused sessions, while others prefer ongoing support through different health phases.
There’s no minimum or maximum. We adapt based on your goals, progress, and what feels most supportive.
I wasn’t able to follow through on the goals we set. Should I postpone my follow-up?
Not at all.
When things don’t go as planned, it’s not a failure, it’s a signal that something needs adjusting.
Follow-ups are the perfect time to reassess, shift strategies, and keep moving forward together.
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral is required.
You can book directly through the site or by emailing me.
What’s the difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?
In Quebec and many Canadian provinces:
-
“Dietitian” (or “Registered Dietitian” / “RD”) is a protected title, meaning the professional has completed a university degree, accredited internship, and licensing exam.
-
“Nutritionist” is also protected only in Quebec, where both titles are regulated by the Ordre des diététistes-nutritionnistes du Québec (ODNQ).
So in Quebec, I use both titles: Dietitian-Nutritionist.
